The Global Entrepreneurship Summit
Launched by President Obama in 2010, and hosted annually since then, the Global Entrepreneurship Summit convenes entrepreneurs and business leaders from around the world, and high-level government officials, demonstrating the U.S. Government’s continued commitment to fostering entrepreneurship globally. President Barack Obama will host the 2016 summit at Stanford University.
Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative
Purpose-driven entrepreneurship and impact investing are on the rise and a double bottom line of profit and impact is emerging in the technology industry. What are the future scenarios ahead of us? The Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative gathers entrepreneurs, investors, policy-makers, and other stakeholders from around the world at the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit to discuss how to mainstream technology entrepreneurship that tackles social and environmental challenges while generating profit. The initiative includes nineteen working groups focused on designing the future of specific industries, markets, and projects.
Participants include official Global Entrepreneurship Summit delegates selected from around the world by the U.S. State Department as well as established leaders from Silicon Valley and the World Economic Forum communities of Global Shapers, Young Global Leaders, Technology Pioneers and Schwab Social Entrepreneurs invited by the Impact Entrepreneurship Initiative's organizing committee.Lisa Hagerman
